Breaking Point

The news of Trumpland

And this failing world

Makes me want to turn away

In disgust

Go live in a wood

Commune with the fairies

Long abandoned

By modern Ireland

But I must

Turn back

We can’t just let

the world burn

We must fight somehow

Without violence, of course,

Because the rules are different

For us…

We’re the good guys

We’ve got to swallow

Their shit and smile

But I’m tired

Lord I’m tired

Of being nice

To the psychos

And sycophants

That run the world

I feel like breaking things

Smashing things up

Frustration gets to be too much

Of lies and lies and lies

I don’t know any answers

Just to patiently endure

Keep my hand bent

Around the flame of love

And hope our moment

Is coming
