A Poem

Sand inside the skin
the whole body turns into an irritated
eyelid
Caught up against the draft
the window seizes the opportunity
to blanket the sky
Indifference is the illness here
rusted manhole covers
just like all the other dead eyes
Chopping at the root of the nail
fingers the nerve into a kind of submission
but the pain can still get you up
on your knees
In the manufactured daylight
the scene becomes a place of research
and rescue
the notes always fainter now always fainter
