Introducing Get on Board Remote

A new portal to showcase and celebrate remote jobs

We should know — we’ve been operating as a remote startup for nearly our entire existence, since Jorge moved to Miami and I moved to Lima back in 2013. Now a team of 6, Get on Board as you know it has been developed and operated almost completely remote, save for some occasional 1-week retreats.

And of course, remote companies also recruit remotely — the team in charge is usually distributed and the need for tools that ease communication and collaboration when recruiting is higher. We instinctively built Get on Board with this in mind.

One of the cool things about the Get on Board ecosystem is that everyone is automatically part of every new thing we launch. In fact, if you have marked your job as “accepting remote work”, you are going to find your job already published in this site!

Professionals apply to remote jobs using the same Get on Board account as usual — and remote jobs meeting your preferences will automatically appear in your feed.

There’s no extra fees for publishing in Get on Board Remote; the only thing you need to do is checking the “Remote work accepted” box:

Of course, this means you must really be willing to accept and compensate remote workers from anywhere and not only your home country. We will make sure that jobs listed as “remote” are truly remote and not just friendly to the idea of occasionally working from home.

If you are willing to let your team work from home some days a week, but you really expect people to show up physically in a regular basis, or if you don’t have the knowledge or the willingness to pay salaries to foreign employees working overseas, please do not check your job as “remote”. It’s not as hard as it sounds, but it does require that your mind is already made up and that you have provisions set in place. The upside, of course, is huge: you will fully benefit from a global economy, as your ability to access top talent is no longer going to be bound by nationality, location or borders.
